ICON

Early-stage cavities typically appear as white chalky spots on the teeth. Orthodontists can identify these cavities.

For patients with early-stage cavities, we offer Icon, which is micro-invasive treatment of smooth surface and proximal caries lesions. It can be used to treat lesions into the first third of dentin (D-1). In one visit, and with no drilling, Icon stops the progression of an early cavity before it needs to be treated with a needle or drill.

Features and Benefits

Micro-invasive technology

  • Stops progression of lesions that are too advanced for fluoride therapy
  • Enables immediate treatment of lesions not yet advanced enough for restoration (drill &fill); ends "wait & see" approach
  • Next step beyond minimally invasive approach to dentistry

No drilling or anesthesia required

  • Patient comfort - no drilling pain
  • Stops caries progress without unnecessary loss of healthy hard tissue

Prevents lesion progression

  • Prolongs life expectancy of tooth

AcceleDent

AcceleDent™ can Enhance Your Orthodontic Treatment!

The new AcceleDent™ System, created by OrthoAccel® Technologies, Inc., was made to compliment any sort of orthodontic treatment – whether the patient is using traditional braces, clear aligners or any other orthodontic appliance. The use of this device can potentially reduce a patient’s time in braces or aligners by as much as 50%!

How Does the new AcceleDent™ System Work?

The AcceleDent™ System creates microvibrations in a patient’s mouth in order to remodel the jawbone quicker. This remodeling, coupled with the force created by the patient’s braces/aligners/orthodontic appliances, allows teeth to move into their corrected positions faster, therefore reducing overall treatment time.

This pulsating technique has been scientifically proven to be effective on other parts of the body, such as the use of vibrations to speed up fracture healing in bones. Other medical applications of vibrations include its use by astronauts. When in space, astronauts endure a long period of weightlessness and stand on vibration plates daily in order to prevent muscle deterioration.

You can enhance your orthodontic treatment and decrease your treatment time by using the AcceleDent™ System for just 20 minutes each day! The device has a mouthpiece which looks very similar to a plastic orthodontic retainer or a sports mouthguard. You simply bite down on the mouthpiece, using gentle pressure, and start the activator. You should be biting down hard enough so that you can let go of the device with your hands and still perform other tasks. AcceleDent™ will pulse for the allotted 20 minutes, and after that, you are finished for the day! It’s that simple!

Zoom whitening

Your teeth will darken over time. Changes in the color of your teeth can be caused by such factors as the food and beverages consumed (like coffee, tea and soda). Other known factors for discoloration may include childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use or improper oral hygiene.

If you're looking for a fast way to dramatically whiten your teeth, Zoom2 Chairside Whitening System may be the answer for you.

In just 45 minutes, this safe and effective system can give you the instant results you've been wanting – an average of eight shades! A specially designed light activates the Zoom! Whitening Gel to gently break down stains on your teeth to put the sparkle back in your smile! Also with the new Zoom2 system, our patients experience up to 67% less sensitivity than with the previous Zoom! system.

Zoom2 Whitening is very safe while under the supervision of a trained dentist. It is one of the safest procedures in cosmetic dentistry. However, we do not recommend this procedure for pregnant women or children under age 13.

You will be given some post-whitening care instructions after your procedure. It is important to maintain a good oral hygiene regimen post-whitening to preserve your bright, white smile. We also recommend occasional touch-ups with the Zoom! Take-Home Gel. Your smile will always be brighter than it was before the procedure, but by following these simple instructions, you can retain your results for a long time!

Although the Zoom2 System can help almost anyone, it may not be as effective in every case. We can determine if tooth whitening is a possible option for your case.
